Social and Emotional Learning Toolbox

This workshop gives teachers and SSWs the skills and confidence they need to make social and emotional learning programs come alive in the classroom. In addition to exploring ways to build on existing programming, the workshop provides participants with a repertoire of creative, fresh and effective social and emotional learning tools that inspire and engage students through drama, games and art activities.

Peer Helper Plus

This workshop helps teachers and SSWs create effective peer leadership groups using proven leadership models based on mentoring and role modelling. We will explore ways to use techniques that keep students engaged as leaders and have an impact across multiple grade levels, resulting in a culture of caring, respect and belonging.

Reversing Isolation with Friendship Groups

This workshop is aimed at teachers and SSWs who would like to help students create authentic, healthy friendships by building on a foundation of social and emotional learning skills.  In addition to learning tools that will break the cycle of isolation among vulnerable children, participants will also understand the benefits of Friendship Groups for all children who will thrive as a result of helping others.

Activating Learning and Reducing Anxiety

Anxiety disorders represent the most common form of mental health issue, with as many as one quarter of all students experiencing anxiety. This workshop provides background explaining the causes and symptoms of anxiety in students, and explores a variety of approaches and techniques that address and reduce anxiety. Participants discuss several foundational principles and everyday practices based on social-emotional learning approaches that alter the experience of anxiety among students.
