Developing Healthy Friendships
Helping children develop friendship skills in elementary school will provide them with the life skills they need to build healthy relationships in secondary school and beyond. This session explores techniques that will allow you to help your child learn friendship skills as well as approaches to addressing some of the interpersonal challenges parents and children may encounter between Kindergarten and Grade 7.
Social and Emotional Learning and Leadership for Parent Advisory Committees
Parent Advisory Committees can play a role in helping to make schools more inclusive and cohesive by creating a subcommittee for social and emotional learning and leadership. This session presents practical ideas about ways to contribute to and support the school’s activities and culture around social and emotional learning that enhance feelings of well-being and belonging for all students.
